Media Room

Tourette Syndrome is a poorly understood, stigmatized neurological disorder characterized by tics: involuntary, rapid, sudden movements or vocalizations that occur repeatedly in the same way. It affects 1 in 100 Canadians, begins in childhood and has no cure.
We are Tourette Canada, the only national, volunteer-based organization assisting individuals affected by Tourette Syndrome (TS) and its associated disorders. We offer a wide variety of support programs and services to the TS community and awareness initiatives aimed at educating the Canadian public.  We are the authoritative Tourette Syndrome resource in Canada and one of the leading Tourette Syndrome support agencies in the world.

We invite members of the media to join with us in fulfilling our mission: To create awareness and understanding of Tourette Syndrome through education, advocacy, support and the promotion of research.
