Support Group Meetings

Support Group Meetings

We run monthly support meetings. Meetings are drop-in and all are welcome to attend, no commitment needed. We provide information, resources, and support to people with Tourette or their caregivers. People of all ages attend our meetings. Meetings take place on the third Tuesday of every month at 7:30pm, and are currently all being held online. You do not need to live in Toronto to join. Please contact our Affiliate Rep Greig Perantinos for the zoom invite (or if you have any questions) at greigperantinos@gmail.com.

Chapter Meetings

Due to COVID-19, we are currently offering two support group meetings  throughout the summer virtually, via ZOOM instead our monthly  meetings at the Royal Ottawa Hospital.

This is a great opportunity to meet the chapter and to discuss issues and perhaps find out how others deal with many of the same issues. It’s free and everyone is welcome! JOIN US.

Tourette Canada offers a number of way for adults to connect with one another, get one-on-one support, and learn more about their condition(s). As an adult with TS, you can connect with the Tourette community virtually via theOnline Forum. The Virtual Community Program also offers a number of services and supports that are designed to reduce social isolation and empower adults with Tourette Syndrome. Whether you’re interested in viewing an e-learning module on the workplace or meeting with a professional counsellor, the Virtual Community Program has you covered.

Are you affected with Tourette Syndrome and having trouble being understood at work? Are those around your child or teenager need a better understanding of Tourette Syndrome?
The Ottawa Chapter offers free in-service presentations for schools as well as for the workplace both in English and in French. If you are interested, please call Jill at 613-823-0675 or send an email at info@tsottawa.com.

WINNIPEG CHAPTER | SERVICE INFORMATION

Tourette Syndrome Service (Clinic)

The Tourette Syndrome Service (TSS) provides consultation, assessment and treatment to children and adolescents who are experiencing symptoms of Tourette Syndrome in conjunction with associated disorders.

Population Served
Children and adolescents who are experiencing symptoms of Tourette’s Syndrome (TS), also known as Tourette Disorder (TD) along with other co-occurring disorders such as Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Anxiety Disorders, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

Referral Process
Referrals from individuals, family members, physicians, mental health professionals, or other individuals can be directed to the Child & Adolescent Mental Health Centralized Intake Service at (204) 958-9660.

Services Offered
• Services are provided by a multidisciplinary team and may include: • Assessment (psychiatric, psychological, educational and occupational therapy)
• Individual therapy
• Family therapy
• Group therapy (tic management, positive parenting -Triple P)
• Emotional regulation and organization skills
• Medication management
• School liaison and consultation
• Public education
