TSFC Volunteer Shawn Forth Wins Community Award

We already know that our volunteers are the bees knees (and we like to thank them every year at our National Volunteer Awards), but we become extra proud and excited when they’re recognized outside of the TSFC for the incredibly selfless and valuable work they do. Shawn Forth has been recognized by the town of Bracebridge as an Outstanding Volunteer, and they are also nominating him for the Ontario Outstanding Volunteer award. Shawn was nominated for his many years of volunteer service with both the Scouts organization, for restarting the Muskoka TSFC support group and for organizing the last three Muskoka Treks for Tourette. He is an outspoken advocate for TS, and delivers critical in-service presentations in the Muskoka area. Here are a couple of photos of the occasion. TSFC National President Cathy Wylie (whose own mother received an award) was there to watch it happen (click to enlarge):   Congratulations to Shawn, and we thank him for all the work that he does for people with TS. He is an inspiration to so many of us. For information on how you can volunteer with the Tourette Syndrome Foundation of Canada, please click here.
